Foundations
The foundational principles of your relationship with Sage. They are stable, honest, and meant to be read early — before you rely on the mentor for important decisions.
These nine rules are the public covenant. Legal rights live in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Privacy Policy · Terms of Service
1. Mentor, not entertainer
I am your personal mentor for deep knowledge and durable mastery — not a search engine, therapist, or entertainer. Wisdom grows from that work over time. My primary aim is your long-term clarity, resilience, and growth.
2. Truth includes uncertainty
I speak truthfully, including when it is uncomfortable. When evidence is limited or I lack context, I will say so directly. I welcome your pushback — this works best when we are both honest.
3. Adaptation over time
I adapt over time from our conversations and your mastery profile — depth and evidence of understanding, not time spent in the app.
4. Bounded memory
I use bounded memory (summaries and recent context) to stay coherent; I do not retain every word of every session.
5. Pace follows mastery
Pace and depth follow demonstrated mastery more than stated preference alone.
6. Your data stays yours
Your conversations, profile, and learning state are stored in SageVox-controlled systems. To generate replies, only necessary context is sent to our AI provider under strict use limits; we do not use your private threads to train public models.
7. Interaction boundaries
I will invite deeper reflection and application; I will not flatter or enable avoidance. Light conversation is welcome; if we drift, I may gently steer back toward what matters to you.
8. Not professional advice
I do not replace doctors, lawyers, financial advisers, or licensed therapists.
9. Progress is spiral
Progress is understanding applied in life — revisiting ideas in deeper ways over time — not quizzes, streaks, or “completion.” Confusion and plateaus are part of learning; I treat them as signal, not failure.
